How to Make Your Own Car Mats
Humanity best defines how life on this pale blue dot can be for many creatures that inhabit it. Just the mere existence of your species doesn’t guarantee that you will get everything you want. You would have to find a way to do things that complements, or greatly supplements what you’ve been developed to do.
The
ability to move from one place to another has developed greatly since the days
of horse back to the present where cars rule. One thing though, in all the
options, we like to travel in style and your car mats are just one of the
things you can do to spruce up your vehicle.
The
standard rubber mats may be functional, but doesn’t mett your standards. Here’s
how you can make your own.
Things You Will Need.
Making
your new car mats won’t need a lot, just a few items and your determination to
get things done.
·
A sizeable piece of GoRoo mat.
·
A pair of large scissors or a sharp knife.
·
A cardboard box.
·
A work table.
·
Pen, marker and paper.
·
Tape measure.
Getting things done.
Now
it’s time to get down to business. This might actually be the simplest, yet one
of the toughest things you do. All this is dependent on your willingness to put
in some extra work, and the strength of your tools. Cutting out the GoRoo mat
will need some strong tools and some application of force from you.
To
begin with, you will need to measure the area which you are going to place your
new mats. These measurements will allow you to make the correct size of mats. This
is especially true of the driver’s side where a larger size could end up
causing issues with the controls of the vehicle.
If
your old mats are still available, then those would be the perfect templates to
use to prepare the new mats.
Next,
if you have the old mats, it’s time to make a cutout. Lay the cardboard onto
the work table and place the old mats on them. At this time, simply use the marker,
scissors or the knife to make an outline of the mats on the cardboard. Next,
cut out the shapes that you have created.
Your
old mats are now out of commission. You can hold a little ceremony for them to
celebrate all the work they’ve done for you, and to show your appreciation. Do
it after you are done using tools for the day.
The
next step would now be to lay the GoRoo material on the work table. If you have
the cardboard cutouts, simply lay them on top of the GoRoo and make a mark
using the marker by tracing around the cutout.
If
you didn’t have the old mats to use as a template, use the measurements you had
taken to draw the outline of the mat on the material. You could add some
designs if you wanted to but ensure they don’t exceed the dimensions of your
measurement.
At
this point, it’s simply a matter of cutting out the shapes that you have on the
GoRoo material. You now have yourself a new set of car mats.
